Freedom FROM Association

Article by Ben Doolin on Jan. 21, 2016

Freedom of Association has long been a foundational piece in the concept of liberty.

Wikipedia defines Freedom of Association as follows: Freedom of association is the right to join or leave groups of a person’s own choosing, and for the group to take collective action to pursue the interests of members.

This of course, became an issue because it was a tool of abuse.

Early slave laws prohibited slaves from ‘gathering’ for fear that they would organize a rebellion.

Much has been made of the ‘right to assemble’ as it applies to modern unions.

Much less has been made of the right to ‘leave a group’… or ‘freedom from association’.

In my opinion… this particular idea is far more important.

Today all around the world… people are automatically ‘placed’ in a ‘group’ at birth.  This grouping effectively enslaves all of humanity… as there is no ‘recognized’ right to disassociate yourself from this group called The State.

Just one more example of the crimes of The State… this time… in denying one of the most fundamental of human rights… the right to be left alone.
