Michelle makes some great points in this article. They’re all very logical and factual. I’m also all for any angle towards regaining freedom. The thing I’m disappointed about is she failed to include the biggest myth of all. It’s an implied myth, but a myth none the less. The myth that government is somehow our Mommies and Daddies. The myth that government is there to protect us from ourselves. That it’s there to watch over us and prevent us from making bad decisions(in its eyes). That it’s there to protect us from from the consequences of our own decisions. That it has the right to interfere with voluntary transactions. Even minarchists believe government should be severely limited and not interfere with voluntary transactions.
It’s about freedom, not jobs or money or anything else. The article is attempting to rationalize why we should have freedom. We should have freedom because we should have freedom. – Colonel Nogov
